Welcome

An Bohreen Bed And Breakfast is located at the foothills of the Comeragh Mountains,
offering our guests spectacular views of Dungarvan Bay and the Gaeltacht
area of An Ring. It is an ideal location for relaxing and getting away
from the hustle and bustle of the fast life we lead.

Looking out from the back patio, you see the beautiful mountains
and glens of South East Ireland, presented to you with a different view
each day.
As you enter An Bohreen you will be welcomed by your hosts,
Ann and Jim Mulligan. The Mulligans have but one purpose in life, and
that is to make your stay, whether it be for a day or a month, truly memorable.
Once inside, you will feel the warmth and comfort that An
Bohreen offers. A cup of tea by the open fire in the sitting
room may be most welcome, or you may wish to relax in a bedroom
that defies you to leave it. All four bedrooms have either a mountain
or a sea view, and two of the bedrooms have french doors opening to a
veranda.

Dinner is served at around seven in the dining
room. Your table will offer fabulous sea views along with our unforgettable
Irish sunsets.
"Unforgettable" also describes Ann's cooking.
She has kept me happy for years with numerous gourmet treats, and even
more so now that she has fulfilled a lifelong ambition, which was to attend
the cookery course at the renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School. So, as a
bachelor I ate rasher sandwiches for three months, but it was worth it,
and after you have tasted one of her meals, I know you will agree!
If for some strange reason, you would rather eat out some
night at some of the fine restaurants in the Dungarvan area, we will be
glad to recommend one to meet your needs. There are of course lots of
pubs that have traditional music and craic in the Dungarvan area.

We welcome anyone who likes the "better things in life"
to our home. There is something for everyone in the Dungarvan area, blue
flag beaches, horse back riding, deep sea and river fishing, shopping
and the Waterford Crystal factory. It's a great hill walking and bird
watching country but golf is it's best kept secret. There are at least
20 courses in the Dungarvan - Waterford - Cork area.
Undiscovered gems, beautiful and challenging, most at very reasonable
green fees and all very friendly. There is the "Annual Dungarvan International
competition" to be held May 24th - 26th 2000, which is played over three
courses, with seventy five hundred pounds in prize money. So allow me
to put together your own "Irish golf tour" at a reasonable cost.

Included in your tour, Mount Juliet, the Augusta of Europe, designed
by Jack Nicklaus. But the course that golf enthusiasts the world over
are talking about, the most remarkable golf links ever conceived in the
history of golf; an Atlantic promontory that will never be rivalled in
terms of drama and beauty, I am referring to "Old Head Golf Links" both
are about an hour and a half's drive from An Bohreen.

An Bohreen Bed And Breakfast has a lot to offer, luxury accommodations designed with Ann's
dream for you in mind, her gourmet cooking has the same objective. And
what do I do around here?
